VLOOKUP mini series

menu_img_vlookup.pngI did a basic introduction into the lookup functions of MSXL. I did it with the VLOOKUP function. Below are the three articles of this series and what they cover:

  • Introduction to the VLOOKUP function: This article covers the basic syntax of VLOOKUP. It describes the four elements of the function: lookup_value, table_array, col_index_num and range_lookup with a simple example.
  • Being TRUE with VLOOKUP: This post describes the difference between the two options you have with the last element of the lookup function: range_lookup (TRUE = find the closest match, FALSE = find an exact match).
  • Checking more than one table with VLOOKUP: This shows a combination of two VLOOKUPs in combination with the ISNA function. The combination of those functions makes it possible to lookup more than one value.

If you like this series, there is a nice option for you to receive it as a printable PDF. You can see some of the insights from this PDF by clicking the images below.
