Today I want to share a quick tip with you which I learned recently. I think you know the problem: Sometimes it is hard to give a nicely created chart an exact position. You can of course CTRL-klick your chart to treat it like a graphic and nudge it with your arrow keys (see this post) but there is an even easier way.

Let's assume that you have created this nice little column chart:

This is our starting situation

Now, if we want to align this to the grey area right of the data table there is an easy way to do it: Simply hold down the ALT key on your keyboard (should be the OPTION key if you are using a Mac) and drag the corners of the chart to the corresponding borders of the grey area. Hover over the little dots on each of the charts for borders until the cursor changes to the double ended arrow. The borders of the chart will now "snap" to each cell border. By the way: For the very small chart I wanted to produce, I decided to get rid of the charts title. The final result looks like this:
