Place your cursor in the top cell of the yellow area (= the range we want to select). Now instead of scrolling down with your arrow keys, the scroll bar or your mouses scroll wheel press F5 on your keyboard. This opens the "Go to" dialog box.
![]()
Now place your cursor in the reference field and enter the following into it:
B2:B201
and hit Enter or click OK. Excel 2003 users, please note, that the the selected cell is automatically displayed in the top row, resulting in the fact, that any row above this cell is "out of sight" VoilĂ , the whole range is selected. Now you could enter the formula we talked about yesterday:
=LEFT(A2,2)
So far so good. What if you don't know how large your range to select is? No problem
Simply go to the top cell in the range where you - in this example - want to extract the data from and then hit the End key on your keyboard followed by the down arrow key. This will automatically will "send" you to the end of your table. Now you know what should be the second part of your reference in the Go to dialog. Proceed as described above.
